Improve Your Betting
Improving Your Betting strategy is what everyone who has an
interest in horse racing is aiming to do and hopefully this should get you
thinking about what you can do to get the most out of your horse racing.
We all approach betting on horse racing in different ways and most will lose
in the long run, if this was not true then there would be no bookmakers, racing,
trainers, jockeys or anything else.
Somebody once said ten percent of the population own ninety percent of the
wealth, well it’s the same for horse racing, problem for the punter is that the
bookmakers are included in that ten percent.
So lets look at the problem that we have and analyse it. Bookmakers make
money out of horse racing, but the average punter does not, so what can we do?
Ban the bookmaker, nice thought but how would be get paid on our winning
selections, in fact how would we get those winning bets on, this is clearly not
an option so lets accept the fact that we need them.
We could try to force them to pay out at larger odds, but again this is a
negative persons way of thinking and is not going to get you very far, in fact
keep thing like that and you are never ever going to succeed in betting.
One of the things that is always said about professional punters is that they
wait until they have a bet that they feel cannot lose and unload on it. Problem
with these types of bets is that they are so few of them and are usually odds
on. Lets face facts, if the odds are 1/10 how much excitement are you going to
get winning one tenth of your stake.
Anyway if you have the £10,000 to place the bet then you don’t need the £1000
winnings, unless of course your just showing off, in which case you are destined
to lose big time in the long run.
But at least you will have one thing on your side, lots and lots of bookmaker
friends, these new found acquaintances will absolutely adore this new mug
punter, whoops I mean customer.
You could just except the fact that any losses incurred are simply a way of
paying for the entertainment in much the same way as football, cricket and
tennis fans do when they go to watch a game. But if you did accept that line of
thought then I very much doubt that you would be reading this in the first
place.
You have a desire to win, but the same as everyone else think that the goose
that lays the golden eggs is just going to walk into your home one day, well I’m
sorry to tell you its not going to happen, you need to work at it.
If you thought that this guide was going to be a one page read that included
a magic pin which could be taken down the bookies every day and pick endless
winner after winner, then your wrong again.
But hopefully by now you learning that this guide is designed to get the
punter thinking and accepting ideas, not dismissing them just because they can’t
be bothered.
Once you get use to thinking and accepting new ideas then you will start to
get that gut feeling when something is right, which can help a lot in racing. A
gut feeling is when you just know that your going to win, don’t know why, but
you know.
